Following the spectacular success of Scorpion Kings Live with Friends in 2025, the Scorpion Kings are prepared to lift the bar once again as they formally announce Scorpion Kings Live at FNB, which will take place on September 19, 2026, at FNB Stadium.
The theme of the concert is “A Family Affair.” The venue has an estimated capacity of 90,000, with expected attendance exceeding 70,000 fans. It was reported that tickets sold out within just seven days, making it possible for this concert to become the world’s largest Amapiano event if the venue is fully sold out. Tickets were available for purchase through Webtickets, Pick & Pay, and Boxer retailers. Following a popular Instagram Live session featuring DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, demand soared, leading to hundreds of thousands of fans queuing online when ticket sales began, which ultimately resulted in websites crashing.
The tickets sold out before the headliners of the concerts were even announced, which goes to show how big the “Scorpion Kings” brand is and that it has widely earned the trust of the Piano heads and consumers.
The first installment of Scorpion Kings Live with Friends 2025, held at a stadium, was a commercial and cultural success in South Africa’s growing Amapiano scene. The event reportedly drew up to 50,000 people to Loftus Versfeld Stadium. Tickets sold quickly months before the concert, with sources indicating that the show was already 30% sold out early in the campaign and had reached 60% sold out by the event day. Piano heads and fans went on to refer to it as a “historic” and “sold-out” Amapiano concert. Post-event, the fans’ reviews commended the performers, stage production, liveliness, and celebration of Amapiano culture.
Reflecting on last year’s milestone and the journey ahead, DJ Maphorisa shared, “Loftus was a moment we’ll never forget, the energy, the love, the unity. It showed us just how far Amapiano has come. But for us, that was only the beginning. FNB Stadium is about taking that feeling and amplifying it for the world to see.”
Co-visionary, Kabza De Small, added, “Every Scorpion Kings Live show is about growth, not just for us, but for the culture. ‘A Family Affair’ is exactly what this is. It’s about bringing everyone together again, bigger than ever, and creating something unforgettable.”
The move from Loftus to FNB Stadium demonstrates how much Amapiano as a genre has expanded globally and how large the Scorpion Kings brand has become.
