The 5Quad league is a premier five-a-side football competition in South Africa that combines elite football, entertainment, and street culture. For the 2026 Season 4 league, there was a lucrative winner-takes-all prize of R500,000.
Each team consists of five players, including a goalkeeper, and the games take place on a smaller pitch. On the weekend of 27- 28 June 2026 at Discovery Soccer Park, Sandton, the league culminated in a championship match between Ireland Boys and Zico Boys, showcasing remarkable skill and resilience. After an intense 3-3 draw in regulation time, the match proceeded to a dramatic penalty shootout, where Ireland Boys triumphed, securing the championship and the grand prize. Their victory was characterised by exceptional teamwork, disciplined defense, effective finishing, and psychological composure, especially during the tense penalties.
