The countdown to the crowning of South Africa’s next King of Kicks has officially commenced, following the launch of King of Kicks 2026 by Russian Bear and YFM. The event gathered prominent sneakerheads, creators, and cultural tastemakers, unveiling insights into this year’s unique sneaker vault, valued at R200,000. As part of the campaign, the sneaker collection will expand weekly, culminating in October when one deserving sneaker enthusiast unlocks the vault and is crowned. As the consumers are advised to follow the official Russian Bear Social pages in order to enter and participate in the competition and to keep up with weekly sneaker reveals.

King of Kicks, is now a flagship platform for Russian Bear, transcends mere competition; it celebrates the fusion of sneaker culture, music, fashion, and street culture, while honoring the communities that elevate these cultural forms. The launch event provided attendees with an exclusive preview of the campaign, introducing them to a unique sneaker vault that will expand over several months. Each week, new iconic sneakers will be added to this collection, generating excitement leading up to the grand finale in October. At this event, one fortunate sneakerhead will have the chance to win some of the most sought after sneakers from the vault.
